
Lacey Carrel, MSW, LSW, LCDCIII
Lacey has served the Fairfield County area since 2014 and serves as The Recovery Center's Clinical Operations and Community Coordinator. With a strong background in non-profit behavioral health and social services, Lacey is passionate and dedicated to empowering clients, improving access to care, building strong community partnerships, leadership and organizational growth. Outside of work she enjoys gardening, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family and animals. Go Bobcats!

Tasha Stout, MSW, LSW
Ages served: 5 years and older
Tasha serves as the Youth Services coordinator at The Recovery Center. She received her master degree in social work with a minor in childhood psychology from Ohio University (Go Bobcats!). She specializes in trauma therapy and cognitive behavioral techniques, working closely with youth and adolescents to help them heal, grow, and thrive. She believes in meeting people where they are, listening with compassion, and creating a space where they feel safe to be themselves. Therapy isn’t just about talking—it’s about connection, trust, and finding strength in the struggle. Growth happens when we feel truly seen and heard.
Outside of work, Tasha is a proud mom of four, a lifelong bookworm, and someone who finds peace in the outdoors—whether she is soaking up the sun at the beach or tending to her hobby farm. On weekends, you’ll catch her cheering the Buckeyes, getting lost in a good novel, or chasing chickens with a coffee in hand. "Life’s messy, beautiful, and full of stories—and I’m here to bring heart, humor and a steady presence."
Adam T. Hemsath, MSSA, LISW-S
Ages served: 18 to 65
Adam is an accomplished therapist whose holistic approach to treatment has assisted his patients in becoming the best versions of themselves. Certified as a Level 2 Clinical Trauma Professional, Adam utilizes an integrated model of treatment with his patients. Adam is fully trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). Adam is also certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (C-DBT), Advanced Grief Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Adam is also knowledgeable in Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) and Somatic Psychotherapy.
Adam is a proud graduate of the Jack, Joseph, and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University. Since graduating he has been a regular guest lecturer at the school on the topics of trauma, PTSD, and veterans' issues. Professionally, Adam focuses on, but is not limited to, treating Trauma, PTSD, Mood Disorders, Disassociation Disorders, Grief, Life Transitions, Anxiety, and Depression. Prior to becoming a mental health professional Adam was a member of the United States Air Force, being stationed in Okinawa Japan and serving one tour in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Adam is a devout Columbus Crew fan, attending as many matches as he can with his wife and daughter. When Adam is not at a Columbus Crew match, he is often outside hiking, going to amusement parks, or planning his next cross-country trip as he is an avid traveler.

Joyce Cox MBA, MSN, CNP
Joyce is a Certified Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience across diverse healthcare settings, including addiction medicine, oncology, hospice and palliative care, general surgery, and general medicine. She is deeply committed to serving vulnerable populations and delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
Joyce earned her MSN and Adult Nurse Practitioner Certificate from Case Western Reserve University along with an MBA, blending clinical expertise with strong leadership and healthcare management skills. She has published multiple journal articles and co-authored a chapter in a surgical nursing textbook. Her contributions to the nursing profession have been recognized with numerous awards from organizations such as the Ohio Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau, American Cancer Society, and the Association of Peri-Operative Registered Nurses.
Outside of her professional work, Joyce enjoys staying active through pickleball and cultivating her garden.

Shane Brunner MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Ages served: 16 years and older
Shane is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who is dedicated to providing care to individuals facing a range of mental health challenges. With a focus on addressing depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, ADHD, and bipolar disorder. He offers psychiatric evaluations and treatment tailored to each individual’s needs. He enjoys working together with his clients and their families to offer comprehensive treatment recommendations and medication management.
Shane received his undergraduate and graduate degree from The Ohio State University and is a devout Buckeye. He enjoys Ohio State football, staying active outside working on various projects, traveling to the beach, and spending time with his wife, daughter, and their two Corgis.

McKenzie Dewese LCDC III, OCPS, ICPS
Ages served: 5 years and older
McKenzie is a licensed chemical dependency counselor and prevention specialist who provides a range of services for The Recovery Center and in the community. She has provided addiction counseling in individual, group, school, and inpatient settings, as well as all 6 CSAP prevention strategies. McKenzie currently implements evidence-based prevention education for mental health, dating violence, addiction, and life skills for kindergarten through adulthood.
McKenzie received her undergraduate degree from Ohio Christian University in Chemical Dependency Counseling. She enjoys a wide variety of indoor and outdoor hobbies, spending time with family, and caring for animals.

Lynne Foresta, CDCA, CPRS
Lynne is a licensed Chemical Dependancy Counsel Assistant (CDCA) and certified Peer Support Specialist who has a passion for guiding individuals into living a life of recovery. She facilitates Women's IOP and SMART Recovery group at The Recovery Center, as well as providing individual counseling sessions to further help her clients and promote growth. She believes by building a strong sober support system and staying involved with the recovery community individuals will form a solid foundation for long-term recovery.
When Lynne is not working, she enjoys being outdoors, especially camping and hiking. She loves the healing properties of nature which have been a strong foundation in her life. She finds her peace and happiness with mediation, journaling, and crafting while working on her own recovery journey.
Jennifer Berry, LSW, MSW, OCPSA
Ages served: 5 years and older
Jenni is a counselor who prides herself with working with clients of all ages. She uses a mix of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), therapy through play, and creative activities to help people explore their emotions, learn coping skills, and build relilience. She also provides mental health, substance use, and children behavioral assessments for idividuals looking for support. Jennifer believes all of her clients deserve support throughout their care and works closely with other agencies and community partners to help provide that support. Her primary goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where healing and growth can happen.
Jenni does not always work from her office at The Recovery Center. She loves getting out into the community where she works closely with the schools around Fairfield county, bringing her skills and expertise to children and adolescents who attend these schools. She provides school-based counseling and makes use of her cerfication as an Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist Assistant (OCPSA) to provide evidence-based counseling and curriculum managment to kids in Kindergarten through 12th grade.
Jenni recieved her Master's Degree in social work from Ohio University and has worked with The Recovery Center for 9 years. Outside of work, Jenni’s world is full of glitter, glue sticks, and giggles—especially when she’s crafting with her daughter. Whether she’s whipping up a DIY masterpiece or spreading joy through her church volunteer work, Jenni brings sparkle and spirit wherever she goes. She’s the kind of person who makes ordinary moments feel like a celebration.

Erin Ramsey, LSW
Ages served: 18 years and older
Erin earned her bachelor's degree in Social Work from Ohio University in 2000. With this degree Erin has provided drug and alcohol counseling, as well as working in schools as an educator and mentor. She has been associated with The Recovery Center for over 21 years.
Outside of her professional life, Erin has two adult children and enjoys traveling anywhere with hiking in nature or rollercoasters. She is a devoted pet mom to 3 cats and 1 dog. She also enjoys her small hobby aquarium, which is home to 7 African Cichild fish.

Kirsten Cope, LSW, CDCA
Kirsten is a substance use counselor with a bachelor’s degree in social work and a minor in substance abuse. She proudly holds a Chemical Dependancy Counsel Assistant (CDCA) certification and specializes in supporting individuals through their recovery journey. Her approach blends cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing with a strong belief in meeting clients where they are—creating a space that’s compassionate, nonjudgmental, and rooted in trust.

Amber Mallory MSW, LISW-S
Amber is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisory designation (LISW-S) and a passionate prevention specialist serving Fairfield County. Since earning her Master’s degree of Social Work in 2016, Amber has worked with individuals across the lifespan—from playful preschoolers to wise older adults—using a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and therapy through art and play.
Her work is rooted in the belief that trust is mutual, and without it, growth can’t happen. Amber is known for her creative, rapport-driven approach that meets people where they are—literally and figuratively. Much of her time is spent out in the community, partnering with local schools and organizations to deliver engaging, inclusive programming that empowers youth and supports families. She also provides counseling in the schools to help reduce barriers so students can get the support they need without having to leave school to get it.
A strong advocate for diversity and equity, Amber creates safe spaces where every voice is valued and every story matters. Her mission is simple: to help people build resilience, make meaningful choices, and feel connected to their communities
Outside of her professional life, Amber finds joy in making memories traveling, as well as supporting her amazing daughter as she shines on stage through theater and dance and is a girl scout. Amber also proudly serves as a Girl Scout Troop leader, helping guide and inspire the next generation of strong, compassionate young women.
